Terms & Conditions

The terms on which GHW Valuations Limited provides its services.

Last updated: October 2026

About these terms

These terms apply to the services provided by GHW Valuations Limited (trading as GHW Valuations), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17177509). By instructing us or booking an appointment, you agree to these terms. Expert witness instructions are also subject to the written terms of engagement agreed for that matter; if the two conflict, the written terms of engagement apply. Tutoring and education services are subject to the arrangements agreed when they are booked.

Instructions and fees

The scope of each valuation is agreed with you before work begins. Fees are confirmed in writing before we start, and payment terms are stated on the quote or invoice. Where VAT applies, it will be shown separately.

Appointments and cancellation

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please give as much notice as possible so that we can offer the time to someone else. Where a cancellation charge applies, we will tell you when the appointment is booked.

If you are a consumer, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing to a service contract. If you ask us to begin work within that period and then cancel, you will pay for the work carried out up to that point. This does not affect your other legal rights.

Valuations

  • A valuation is the professional opinion of the valuer, based on the items examined and the information available at the date of the valuation.
  • It is prepared for the purpose stated in the report (for example insurance, probate or sale) and should not be used for any other purpose.
  • It is not a guarantee of the price an item will achieve if sold, and values change over time, so we recommend periodic review.
  • Reports are prepared for you only and may not be relied on by anyone else without our written consent.

Your responsibilities

Please give us accurate and complete information about each item, including its history and any repairs or alterations you know of. You should confirm that you are entitled to instruct us in respect of the items. Items remain at your risk unless we agree otherwise in writing, so please arrange suitable insurance for items in transit.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for loss caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied to us.

Your data

We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

This website

The information on this website is general in nature and is not valuation or legal advice for your particular items or circumstances. We are not responsible for the content of external websites we may link to.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please email info@ghwvaluations.com and we will do our best to resolve the matter promptly.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you instruct us applies to that instruction. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
